What is Dead Sea Salt

The Dead Sea is called dead because of its high salt content, which prevents organisms living in the water from surviving.

In its pure form, Dead Sea salt is not suitable for consumption. The high concentration of minerals in the salt, including magnesium, gives it a bitter taste.

Table salt is extracted differently, and correctly, than in other sea salt factories. A special technique is used to obtain table salt. The water of the Dead Sea is led to evaporation basins. Sodium chloride is the heaviest of all salts and is the first to settle at the bottom of the salt factory. The "leftover" water is then drained and new water is supplied. This process is repeated again and again.
